A supplier that also sells to a company's rivals, or a customer that also buys from them, ties their fortunes together: a supply shortage, a price change or a lost account can hit the whole group at once. This recipe finds those shared links in the filings, then checks each one.

## The flow

1. **List the company's competitors.** [GetSupplyChain](/docs/mcp/tools/supply-chain#getsupplychain) with `side: "competitors"` returns the competitors the company's latest read 10-K names and the listed companies whose 10-Ks name it, each labelled with who names whom. A one-sided mention is not an agreed rivalry; keep the label.
2. **Find the shared suppliers and customers.** [GetSupplyChainOverlap](/docs/mcp/tools/supply-chain#getsupplychainoverlap) lists each of the company's suppliers and customers that also serves a listed competitor, with those competitors. A competitor whose own 10-K is not read yet is named as unread: a supplier only its own filing would name is unknown there, not absent.
3. **Compare head to head.** Pass `vs` with one competitor's symbol to split each side into suppliers or customers both use, those only the company uses, and those only the competitor uses.
4. **Verify each shared link.** Both companies' sentences come from their filings. Use [SearchDocument](/docs/mcp/tools/filings#searchdocument) and [ReadDocumentLines](/docs/mcp/tools/filings#readdocumentlines) on each filing to confirm what is supplied, whether the relationship is current, and whether the name means the same company (a brand or subsidiary can share a name with an unrelated firm).
5. **Weigh the exposure.** [GetSupplyChain](/docs/mcp/tools/supply-chain#getsupplychain) gives any revenue share a filing states, in dollars where the same filing reports revenue; [GetCustomerConcentration](/docs/mcp/tools/fundamentals#getcustomerconcentration) adds concentration disclosures. Treat a link without a stated share as unquantified, not small.

## Prompt

> Using Equibles, find which of NVIDIA's suppliers and customers also serve its competitors. List each shared supplier or customer with the competitors it also serves, say which competitors' own 10-Ks are not read yet, and then compare NVIDIA with AMD side by side. For each shared link, quote both filings, give their dates, and note any stated revenue share; mark links without a stated share as unquantified.

## What you get

A list of the suppliers and customers a company shares with its rivals, each traced to the filings that name it, with the gaps where a competitor's own filing is not read yet kept visible. It shows where one supplier's trouble or one customer's decision reaches several competitors at once.

Use [Map customers and suppliers](/docs/recipes/map-customers-and-suppliers) to build the full relationship map, or [Discover a company's competitors](/docs/recipes/discover-competitors) to widen the peer set beyond the filings.
