Regulation FD Disclosure.

In connection with implementation of the Company’s strategic plan and organizational restructuring, the Company has identified
six Senior Vice President and higher positions that it expects to eliminate or replace as it revises its strategic plan going forward. One of those positions has been filled by Richard B. Cribbs, Senior Vice President of Strategy &
Investor Relations, Treasurer, and named executive officer of the Company, and a second has been filled by T. Ryan Rogers, Chief Transformation Officer and Executive Vice President. Mr. Cribbs’ departure is expected to be effective
September 15, 2020. Mr. Rogers is expected to transition out over the coming weeks. The Company has valued their contributions and dedicated service, and wishes them well in the future.

This compares with operating income of $7.0 million and an operating ratio of 96.8% and adjusted operating income(1) of $7.8 million and an adjusted operating ratio(1) of 96.0% in the second quarter of 2019.

Net loss of $22.3 million, or loss per share of $1.31. This compares with net income of $6.1 million, or earnings per diluted share of $0.33 in the
second quarter of 2019. Adjusted net income(1) of $0.5 million, or adjusted earnings per share(1) of $0.03. This compares with adjusted net income(1) of $6.6 million, or adjusted earnings per diluted share(1) of $0.35 in the second quarter of 2019.

The second quarter consolidated net loss and adjusted net income included a $0.4 million, or $0.02 per share, pass-through earnings from the Company’s
