Item 5.02(b) – Departure of Director

On May 1, 2024, Laurie Smaldone Alsup notified BlackBerry Limited (the “Company”) that she will not stand for re-election as a director at the Company’s annual and special meeting of shareholders (the “Annual Meeting”), to be held on June 25, 2024. Dr. Smaldone Alsup has served on the Board of Directors of the Company (the “Board”) since June 2015 and will complete her current term, which expires at the Annual Meeting. Dr. Smaldone Alsup’s decision not to stand for re-election was not the result of any disagreements with the Company on matters related to its operations, policies or practices.

The Company expects to nominate Lori O’Neill for election to the Board at the Annual Meeting. Ms. O’Neill is a FCPA, FCA, corporate director and independent financial consultant to growth companies. She is a director of Constellation Software Inc. and Calian Group Ltd. and served over 24 years with Deloitte LLP.
