Avista planned road closure on Kings Pass Road

Spokane, Wash., July 21, 2026: Kings Pass Road will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, July 27, through Friday, Sept. 4. The six-mile county road runs from Beaver Creek Road to Thompson Pass Road and ends in Murray, Idaho. During the closure, Avista crews will complete infrastructure upgrades near the roadway to increase capacity for customers in the area. Road closure signs will be in place. Customers and travelers should plan ahead and use alternate routes during the closure. Avista appreciates customers’ patience while crews complete this work.
