Google Gemini now connects renters to Zillow tour booking

Zillow Group, Inc. (ZG)

Key takeaways Zillow supplies the real-time tour availability and booking system behind the Gemini experience. The launch follows Zillow’s ChatGPT integration and the debut of AI mode on Zillow’s own platform. The partnership is aimed at shortening the path from rental search to tour scheduling. Zillow® Rentals is now live as a connected app inside Google Gemini and Gemini Spark — the only real estate platform in Gemini’s connected apps ecosystem. Renters can ask Gemini to find apartments with tours available on Zillow — “Find me a pet-friendly one-bedroom in Seattle with tours on Zillow,” for example — and the Zillow connected app brings up matching listings and available booking times directly in Gemini. One click takes the renter to Zillow to confirm the booking, pick a time and lock it in. The search starts in Gemini. The tour books on Zillow. "Renters don’t all start their search the same way," said Michael Sherman, senior vice president of Zillow Rentals. "What matters is that Zillow is there when they are ready to take a real next step — that includes inside one of the largest AI assistants in the world." How it works When a Gemini user asks about tour availability on rental listings, they can book directly through Zillow’s connected app. Available booking times surface in Gemini based on the property’s configuration — instant tour-enabled listings show a “Book a Tour” option powered by Zillow’s infrastructure, while all other properties offer a “Request a Tour” option. Renters connect their Google and Zillow accounts once, and the confirmed tour appears in their Zillow itinerary with confirmation from the property’s touring provider. The experience is rolling out to Gemini and Gemini Spark users over the coming weeks. Why Zillow powers the experience Gemini handles the conversation. Zillow handles what happens afterward. Zillow’s rental marketplace spans single-family homes and apartment listings nationwide, with integrations across a broad range of touring providers, making it a natural fit for Google’s first real estate–connected app in Gemini. From there, Zillow powers real-time touring availability, scheduling infrastructure and the booking experience. When a renter books, they’re on Zillow, using the same systems that renters and property managers already rely on. Instant touring is already live across thousands of Zillow Rentals listings, and Zillow expects coverage to expand throughout the year, further increasing utility and network effects over time. Building on Zillow’s AI strategy Zillow’s integration with Gemini is an extension of our evolving AI strategy and reach. In October 2025, Zillow became the first and only real estate app integrated into ChatGPT. Five months later, the company launched AI mode, a guided conversational search experience built directly into Zillow.com and the Zillow app. The Gemini integration marks the next step in that evolution, extending Zillow’s experiences to another major AI platform. Zillow has spent years embedding AI into the housing journey, assisting consumers in their search for and discovery of homes, supporting agents in managing client relationships, and helping housing professionals create and market listings more efficiently. Those experiences are powered by a shared AI foundation that allows Zillow to bring its capabilities wherever consumers choose to engage. That approach reflects how people actually search for housing today. According to Zillow’s 2026 Consumer Housing Trends Report, the typical renter uses five different sites or apps during their search. Rather than expecting consumers to come to a single destination, Zillow is increasingly bringing its inventory, insights and services to the platforms and experiences they already use. “Getting a tour scheduled is the point when a search becomes real. It’s important that Zillow shows up for renters at this moment, which can now happen directly in Gemini,” Sherman said. What’s next Today’s launch focuses on rental tour scheduling. Zillow and Google will continue to evaluate how the integration evolves as Zillow expands touring availability across its rental marketplace. For renters, it’s a shorter path from search to scheduled tour — wherever the search begins.
