On December 18, 2023, NACCO Industries, Inc.'s (the "Company") wholly-owned subsidiary, Mississippi Lignite Mining Company ("MLMC"), received a force majeure event notice from MLMC's customer, Choctaw Generation Limited Partnership. The force majeure event is attributable to an unplanned outage at the Red Hills Power Plant that began on December 15, 2023. The notice did not provide a timeline for resolution of the issue. MLMC is the exclusive supplier of lignite to the Red Hills Power Plant. A prolonged outage would have a significant impact on the Company's results of operations in 2024.
