In a Current Report on Form 8-K filed on April 14, 2023 (the “Original 8-K”), Stepan Company (the “Company”) disclosed that Arthur W. Mergner, Executive Vice President, would retire from the Company effective on June 30, 2023. The Company is filing this amendment to the Original Form 8-K to disclose that the effective date of Mr. Mergner's retirement has changed to July 3, 2023.
