Discovery Becomes Title Sponsor of Northern College’s New Discovery Fieldhouse

Investing in health, education, and community for a stronger Timmins Discovery is proud to support Northern College’s new Discovery Fieldhouse, a landmark project that will create a year-round destination for recreation, wellness, learning, and community engagement in Timmins. The new facility represents a significant investment in the future of the region and will provide students, staff, and community members with a modern, accessible space to stay active, build connections, and support healthy lifestyles throughout the year. A Transformational Facility for Timmins The Discovery Fieldhouse will feature a state-of-the-art sports dome and clubhouse designed to accommodate a wide range of activities and programs. The facility will include a large indoor soccer field, additional courts and fields for sports such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, pickleball, and badminton, as well as walking and running tracks, fitness facilities, and change rooms. Beyond recreation, the Fieldhouse will serve as a hub for community events, cultural gatherings, tournaments, and educational opportunities. The facility will also enhance Northern College programs, including paramedicine, policing, and firefighting, helping students gain practical experience in a modern learning environment. Supporting a Stronger Community Timmins has long been an important part of Discovery’s story. By supporting projects that enhance quality of life, encourage active living, and create opportunities for community engagement, we are helping to ensure the region remains a great place to live, work, learn, and raise a family. The Discovery Fieldhouse will provide an inclusive space where people of all ages can come together—from youth participating in organized sports to families attending community events and seniors looking for a safe, year-round environment to stay active. A Lasting Legacy The Discovery Fieldhouse is more than just a sports facility—it is an investment in people. It will create opportunities for learning, wellness, recreation, and community connection for decades to come. We are honoured to have our name associated with a project that reflects the values of collaboration, growth, and community development. As construction moves forward, Discovery is excited to support a facility that will leave a lasting legacy for Timmins and the broader Northern Ontario region. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier future for our community.
