Reported debt, as the company states it
Total debt in the issuer's own words and the newest balance-sheet debt balances, each with its date, currency and source filing. Categories that overlap stay separate and are never added together.
Read how a listed company borrows: the debt totals it reports, each note series, term loan and revolving credit facility with its principal, balance and maturity, and the covenant terms its governing agreements set, from events of default and reporting duties to limits on liens and new debt. Every figure and clause links to the filing it came from, with the exact quote. Ask Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client, or call the REST API from your own code.

Free: 100 requests a day, no credit card. One account works with REST and MCP.
Both surfaces read the same store the Equibles pages render, so a figure on the site and a figure in your code agree.

Each identified instrument keeps one stable ID across filings, with its legal issuer, original and outstanding principal, carrying amount, commitment, availability and maturity, plus CUSIP or ISIN aliases where the filing gives them.
Verified clauses from the governing indenture or credit agreement and its amendments: events of default, reporting duties, change of control, liens, mergers, restricted payments and financial tests with their threshold when the agreement states one.
Every endpoint below is a GET under the api.equibles.com/v1 base URL, authenticated with an API key. Each MCP tool answers the same question in plain English from Claude, ChatGPT or any connected client.

An empty or short profile is not evidence that a company has no debt or no covenants. Each profile states the filings examined through a date, the documents still waiting and any agreement whose sections could not be verified, so you can tell missing coverage from absence.
Covenant terms are the clauses an agreement sets, not a compliance result. A threshold appears only when the agreement states the test, and a comparison inside a prohibition is not a standalone minimum; read the clause's summary and quote together.
Choose the interface that fits the work; all three read the same store.
It returns a company's borrowing as structured data: the debt totals it reports, each note, term loan and credit facility with its balances and maturity, and the covenant terms set by the agreements behind them, every value linked to the filing it came from.
Listed companies that file annual and interim reports: SEC filers through their 10-K, 10-Q, 20-F, 40-F and 8-K filings and debt exhibits, plus supported European, mainland Chinese and Hong Kong annual reports. Private borrowers that file nothing publicly are not covered, and registered investment funds sit outside debt profiles.
No. It returns the covenant terms an agreement sets, with the provision reference and quote, and only clauses an independent check verified. Whether a company met a test on a given date is a separate statement in its filings; the API never infers it.
Coverage grows filing by filing. The profile reports the filings examined through a date, the backlog still waiting and any agreement with sections that could not be verified, so a gap reads as unexamined, never as no debt.
Yes. Connect the Equibles MCP server and ask for a company's debt by ticker; GetDebtProfile returns the totals and instruments, and GetDebtInstrument pages one instrument's filing history, covenant terms and source documents. For a listing outside the US, pass MIC:TICKER. The REST API returns the same data as JSON for US tickers.
Yes. The Equibles free tier includes 100 requests a day, shared across the REST API and MCP server, with no credit card. Paid plans raise the limit.
