Renewables:

Total enters the floatingoffshore wind sector in France

Paris, October 7, 2020 – Total becomes a 20% shareholder in the Eolmed floating wind farm pilot project, located in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Gruissan and near Port-La-Nouvelle (Occitan region).

Attributed in July 2016, this 30 megawatts (MW) project will accelerate the development of a floating wind technology. Together with Qair, the historical developer and majority shareholder of the project, and its local partners, Total brings its experience in the conception, deployment and exploitation of offshore installations throughout their life cycle.

Total is thus continuing to reinforce its position in the emerging sector of floating offshore wind, in which it wants to be one of the world leaders. Today, the Group is present in South Korea with a portfolio of 2 gigawatts and in the United Kingdom with the 100 MW Erebus project, which has just been granted exclusive development rights for its area.

Julien Pouget, Director Renewables of Total, stated: “This announcement once again demonstrates the Group’s ambition and willingnessto innovate in the field of renewable energies. Floating offshore wind is a very promising segment in which Total notably brings its extensive experience in offshore projects. Together with our partner Qair, we have the necessary resources tomeet the technological and financial challenges that will determine our future success. I am delighted that Total can contribute to the emergence of this new sector in France. “

“The Eolmed project is at the heart of the Occitanie Region’s strategy for the development of renewable energies, actively supported bylocal partners. It also demonstrates Qair’s ambition to become a major player in floating offshore wind energy in Europe. By joining forces with a renowned French industrial partner for this innovative project developed by our teams since 2016,Qair is strengthening its technical expertise for the realisation of the Eolmed project and for future floating wind projects.” adds Louis Blanchard, CEO of Qair.

Total, renewables and electricity

As part of its ambition to get to net zero by 2050, Total is building a portfolio of activities in electricity, renewable in particular, that could account for up to 40% of its sales by 2050. Total joins the Sea Cargo Charter, as Industry giants commit to

transparent reporting of shipping emissions

The Sea Cargo Charter sets a new benchmark for responsible shipping, transparent climate reporting, and improved decision making in line with UnitedNations decarbonization targets.

Paris, October 7, 2020 – A group of the world’s largest energy, agriculture, mining, and commodity trading companies will for the first time assess and disclose the climate alignment of their shipping activities. United Nations agencies estimate the international shipping industry to carry around 80% of world trade flows and to be responsible for 2-3% of global greenhouse gas emissions annually.

Large industrial corporations are significant users of international shipping services. The shipping of crude oil, coal, iron ore, grain and other bulk commodities used worldwide make up over 80% of global seaborne trade. The Sea Cargo Charter is a global framework that allows for the integration of climate considerations into chartering decisions to favor climate-aligned maritime transport.

The Sea Cargo Charter establishes a common baseline to quantitatively assess and disclose whether shipping activities are aligned with adopted climate goals. The Sea Cargo Charter is consistent with the policies and ambitions adopted by member states of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for regulating shipping. This includes its ambition for greenhouse gas emissions from international shipping to peak as soon as possible and to reduce shipping’s total annual greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% of 2008 levels by 2050, with a strong emphasis on zero emissions.

“Total shares the ambition to get to net-zero emissions by 2050, together with society, for its globaloperations. As a broad energy company, we are actively working on improving the environmental footprint of the maritime industry. By becoming today a founding member of the Sea Cargo Charter, we reaffirm our support to this key sector. Thispioneering initiative will provide a transparent standard emissions reporting approach and will pave the way for a sustainable shipping industry.” underlines Luc Gillet, Senior Vice President Shipping, TotalTrading & Shipping.

“A standard greenhouse gas emissions reporting process will simplify some of thecomplexities often associated with reporting. It will encourage a more transparent and consistent approach to tracking emissions, which will be a critical part of making shipping more sustainable,” says Jan Dieleman Chair of the SeaCargo Charter drafting group.

The 17 Founding Signatories of the Sea Cargo Charter include Anglo American, ADM, Bunge, Cargill OceanTransportation, COFCO International, Dow, Equinor, Gunvor Group, Klaveness Combination Carriers, Louis Dreyfus Company, Norden, Occidental, Shell, Torvald Klaveness, Total, Trafigura, and Ørsted. All other responsible shippers are invited to join the initiative.

“The Sea Cargo Charter enables leaders from diverse industry sectors to use their influence todrive change and promote shipping’s green transition by choosing maritime transport that is aligned with agreed climate targets over that which is not,” says Johannah Christensen, Managing Director, Head ofProjects & Programmes at international non-profit, Global Maritime Forum.

The Sea Cargo Charter is intended to evolve over time as the IMO adjusts its policies and regulations and when further adverse environmental and social impacts are identified for inclusion. They also aim to support other initiatives developed to address climate, environment, and social risks in shipping, such as the Poseidon Principles.

The Sea Cargo Charter is applicable to bulk charterers with interest in the cargo on board; those who simply charter out the vessels they charter in; as well as the disponent owners and all charterers in a charterparty chain. They apply globally, to all chartering activities where a vessel or vessels fall under the purview of the IMO.

The development of the Sea Cargo Charter has been led by global shippers – Anglo American, Cargill OceanTransportation, Dow, Norden, Total, Trafigura – and leading industry players – Euronav, Gorrissen Federspiel, Stena Bulk – with expert support provided by the Global Maritime Forum, Smart Freight Centre, UniversityCollege London Energy Institute/UMAS, and Stephenson Harwood.

Total and Google Cloud develop Solar Mapper, a tool for

estimating the solar energy potential of houses’ roofs

Paris, 13 October 2020 – Total and Google Cloud have pooled their expertise to jointly develop an innovative tool, Solar Mapper, which aims to accelerate the deployment of solar panels for individuals (B2C) by providing an accurate and rapid estimate of the solar energy potential of their homes, first in Europe and then worldwide.

Solar Mapper uses brand-new artificial intelligence algorithms that provide better results than current tools, especially by improving:

• the quality of the data extracted from satellite images;
• the sharpness of the estimation of the solar potential;
--- ---
• the relevance of the technology to be installed;
--- ---
• the global geographical coverage of the tool.
--- ---

In the case of France, Solar Mapper provides more than 90% geographical coverage*,* allowing many more people to assess the solar potential of their homes, with greater accuracy than before.

“Solar Mapper will enable Total to faster deploy solar panels on the houses’ roofs,in order to provide its customers with more affordable and more accessible solar energy,” explains Marie-Noëlle Séméria, Total’s Chief Technology Officer. “By combining Total’s expertise in solarenergy with Google Cloud’s expertise in artificial intelligence and databases, we were able to develop an attractive and innovative offer together in just 6 months.”

In addition, Total plans to develop a B2B application of Solar Mapper, dedicated to industrial and commercial buildings and installations.

Solar Mapper is contributing to the Group’s ambition to become a world leader in the production of renewable energies, toward getting to net-zero emissions by 2050 together with society.

Total Delivers its First

Carbon Neutral LNGCargo

Paris, October 20, 2020 – Total has delivered its first shipment of carbon neutral^1^ liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Chinese National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).

The loading operation was carried out at the Ichthys liquefaction plant in Australia, and the shipment was delivered on September 29 to the Dapeng terminal, China.

“We are proud to have completed this first shipment of carbon neutral LNG with CNOOC, a long-standing partner of Total. This first LNG shipment, whose carbon emissions have been offset throughout the value chain, represents a new step as we seek to support our customers towards carbon neutrality,” explains Laurent Vivier, President for Gas at Total. “The development of LNG is essential to meet the growth in global demand for energy while reducing the carbon intensity of the energy products consumed.”

The carbon footprint of the LNG shipment was offset with VCS (Verified Carbon Standards) emissions certificates financing two projects:

◾ Hebei Guyuan Wind Power Project, which aims to reduce emissions from coal-based power generation in northern
China.
◾ Kariba REDD+ Forest Protection Project, which aims to protect Zimbabwe’s forests

Total, Second Largest Private Global LNG Player

Our Group has made natural gas, the least pollutant of all fossil fuels, a cornerstone of its strategy to meet a growing global demand for energy while helping to mitigate climate change. We are focusing in particular on LNG, which can be easily transported and delivered as close as possible to consumer markets. Total is present across the entire LNG value chain, from production and liquefaction of natural gas to LNG shipping and trading, regasification using terminals and floating storage regasification units (FSRUs) and contributes to the development of the LNG sector for maritime transportation.

^1^ The term “carbon neutral” indicates that Total and CNOOC have offset the amount of carbon dioxide equivalent associated with the whole carbon footprint of the LNG Cargo (including the production, liquefaction, shipping, regasification, and end-use) through VCS certified emission reduction projects.

Total is the second-largest global LNG stakeholder in the private industry, with an overall portfolio of nearly 50 Mt/year by 2025 and a worldwide market share of 10%. With over 34 Mt of LNG sold in 2019, the Group has solid and diversified positions across the LNG value chain. The Group sells LNG in all world markets via its stakes in liquefaction plants in Qatar, Nigeria, Russia, Norway, Oman, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Australia and Angola.

Electric Vehicle Charging:

ChargeUp Europe, Voice of the Industry in Europe, Welcomes TOTAL

as its 9^th^ member

ChargeUp Europe, the voice of the electric vehicle charging industry in Europe, is delighted to announce its latest member, broad energy company TOTAL.

TOTAL’s membership reflects its strong commitment to electro-mobility, and its support for the core values and objectives of all ChargeUp Europe members: delivering a seamless charging experience for EV drivers, incentivising investment and creating a consumer-centric, open market model for charging.

Just over six months since the launch of ChargeUp Europe, the Alliance, which was created by Allego, ChargePoint and EVBox Group, now counts nine members. As it continues to grow its membership, ChargeUp Europe looks forward to continuing to actively contribute to discussions on policy initiatives at EU level that can support an efficient, effective and consumer-friendly roll out of charging infrastructure across the EU.

Commenting on the announcement, Pierre Clasquin, EV Charge Vice-President at Total, stated:

“We are delighted to be the first broad energy company to join the ChargeUp Europe alliance. The EU has been a pioneer on the path toward carbonneutrality while Total is pledging to achieve net zero emissions in Europe by 2050 or earlier. As all electric mobility players on the continent, we have therefore a key role to play. In this context of a gradual switch towards Net Zero mobility, our ambition is to operate 150,000 EV charging points by 2025. Joining the ChargeUp Europe alliance will facilitate advocacy for policies that encourage investment and facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles at the European level.”

Press Release

LanzaTech, Total and L’Oréal announce a worldwide

premiere: the production of the first cosmetic plastic bottle

made from industrial carbon emissions

Paris, October 27, 2020 – Through their innovative partnership, LanzaTech, Total and L’Oréal have premiered the world’s first sustainable packaging made from captured and recycled carbon emissions. The successful conversion process takes place in three steps:

◾ LanzaTech captures industrial carbon emissions and converts them into ethanol using a unique biological
process.
◾ Total, thanks to an innovative dehydration process jointly developed with IFP Axens, converts the ethanol into
ethylene before polymerizing it into polyethylene that has the same technical characteristics as its fossil counterpart.
--- ---
◾ L’Oréal uses this polyethylene to produce packaging with the same quality and properties as
conventional polyethylene.
--- ---

It is a technological and industrial success proving that industrial carbon emissions can be used to produce plastic packaging. This world first demonstrates the commitment of the three partners to the development of a sustainable circular economy for plastics and paves the way for new opportunities for the capture and re-use of industrial carbon emissions.

The partners now intend to continue working together on scaling the production of these sustainable plastics and look forward to working with all those who want to join them in committing to the use of these new sustainable plastics.

LanzaTech CEO Jennifer Holmgren said: **** “This partnership is based on a shared goal of creating a cleaner planet for everyone. We are grateful to both L’Oréal and Total for their commitment to reducing the carbon intensity of their activities. Together, we can reduce the carbon footprint of packaging by converting carbon emissions into useful products, making single-use carbon a thing of the past.”

Senior Vice President Polymers, Total, Valérie Goffannounced: **** “This partnership is an excellent example of collaboration between industrial firms in developing the plastics of the future produced from recycled carbon and meets a strong demand from our customers. The development of this new pathway of valuing industrial carbon emissions also contributes to the Group’s commitment to get to net zero in Europe by 2050”.

Jacques Playe L’Oréal Packaging & Development Director, L’Oréal, said that “L’Oréal is constantly improving the environmental footprint of its packaging. With this innovation converting carbon emissions into polyethylene, we aim to develop new sustainable packaging solution. We have the ambition to use this sustainable material in our bottle of shampoo and conditioner by 2024 and we hope other companies will join us in using this breakthrough innovation.”

South Africa: Total Makes Second Significant

Gas Condensate Discovery

Paris,October 28, 2020 – Total has made a significant gas condensate discovery on the Luiperd prospect, located on Block 11B/12B in the Outeniqua Basin, 175 kilometers off the southern coast of South Africa. This discovery follows the adjacent play opening Brulpadda discovery in 2019, which proved a significant new petroleum province in the region.

The Luiperd well was drilled to a total depth of about 3,400 meters and encountered 73 meters of net gas condensate pay in well-developed good quality Lower Cretaceous reservoirs. Following a comprehensive coring and logging program the well will be tested to assess the dynamic reservoir characteristics and deliverability.

“We are very pleased with this second discovery and its very encouraging results, which prove the world-class nature of this offshore gas play,” said Arnaud Breuillac, President Exploration & Production at Total. ‘’With this discovery and the successful seismic acquisitions, Total and its partners have acquired important data on the Paddavissie fairway, which will help to progress development studies and engage with South African authorities regarding the possible conditions of the gas commercialization.”

The Block 11B/12B covers an area of 19,000 square kilometers, with water depths ranging from 200 to 1,800 meters. It is operated by Total with a 45% working interest, alongside Qatar Petroleum (25%), CNR international (20%) and Main Street, a South African consortium (10%).

Clean Marine Fuels :

Total chartersfour new LNG-powered vessels

LOGO

Paris, October 28, 2020 – Total is pursuing its strategy to reduce greenhouse gases emissions in maritime transportation, by chartering four Aframax-type vessels equipped with Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) propulsion. These vessels, each with a capacity of 110,000 tons of crude oil or refined products, will be delivered in 2023 and will join the time-chartered fleet of Total. The first two vessels will be chartered from shipowner Hafnia, and the remaining two from Viken Shipping.

The vessels have been designed with the most efficient LNG propulsion technologies to reduce emissions, allowing a significant decrease in Greenhouse Gases, of more than 5,000 tons per year and per ship compared to conventional vessels.

“This chartering contract is in line with ourClimate Ambition and will contribute to our Net Zero carbon neutrality target by 2050 or before. This contract follows a similar one, signed earlier this year, for two LNG-powered VLCC (Very Large CrudeCarriers), to be delivered in 2022.” underlined Luc Gillet, Senior Vice President Shipping at Total. “LNG as a Marine Fuel remains the best and immediately available solution to reduce the carbon footprint of our shippingactivities. With these four new vessels, we reaffirm our commitment to expand the use of cleaner marine fuels, for a more sustainable shipping”.

The supply of LNG for these four LNG-powered vessels will be provided by Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions, Total’s dedicated business unit in charge of worldwide bunkering activities.

Paris, October 30, 2020 – Total SE’s Board of Directors met on October 29, 2020, under the chairmanship of CEO Patrick Pouyanné to approve the Group’s third quarter 2020 financial statements. On this occasion, Patrick Pouyanné said:

“After a second quarter in which the Group faced exceptional circumstances with oil prices falling below $20/b and a very strong slowdown ofglobal activity linked to the health crisis, the Group benefited during the third quarter from a more favorable environment, with oil prices above $40/b thanks to strong OPEC+ discipline as well as the demand recovery for petroleum products for roadtransportation. However, the environment was mixed with low natural gas prices and severely depressed refining margins due to excess production capacity relative to demand and high inventories.

In this context, the Group is once again demonstrating its resilience thanks to its integrated model, by generating cash flow (DACF) of more than$4 billion, conforming to forecasts with a $40/b crude price, and reducing gearing to 22% given its investment and cost discipline. Adjusted net income was close to $850 million, and the organic cash breakeven remained below $25/b.

Upstream carries the Group’s results with adjusted net operating income of $1.1 billion, notably thanks to low production costs of$5/boe, despite lower LNG prices and lower production. Given the strict discipline with which OPEC+ has implemented quotas and the lack of production in Libya until October 2020, the Group now anticipates full-year 2020 production below 2.9 Mboe/d.

In Downstream, Refining faced losses while Petrochemicals resisted, and Marketing & Services generated net operating income of morethan $400 million, better than in the third quarter 2019. Following the announcement of the sale of the Lindsey refinery in the United Kingdom in July, the Group continued to adapt its European refining with the conversion of Grandpuits inFrance to a zero-oil platform that will produce biofuels and bioplastics.

During the quarter, theGroup accelerated the implementation of its renewable energy strategy, notably by acquiring a 3.3 GW solar portfolio in Spain and taking positions in floating offshore wind in South Korea and France. In addition to the gross renewable installedcapacity of 5.1 GW at the end of the third quarter, the Group is developing a portfolio of 19 GW of projects, of which 9 GW already benefit from long-term power purchase agreements.

Confident in the fundamentals of the Group, the Board of Directors confirmed the third interim dividend payment maintained at €0.66 per share andreaffirmed that the dividend is supported in a context of $40/b, particularly in view of the results this quarter.”

Summary and outlook

The oil market environment remains uncertain and will depend notably on the speed of the global demand recovery, affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Oil prices have remained above $40/b since June, supported by strong compliance with OPEC+ quotas and lower hydrocarbon production in North America. In this context, given the quotas, the Group now anticipates full-year 2020 production below 2.9 Mboe/d.

Total anticipates that the increase in oil prices over the second and third quarters will have a positive impact on its average LNG selling price in the fourth quarter, which is expected to be over $4/Mbtu.

In the Downstream, since the beginning of the fourth quarter, European refining margins have averaged more than $10/t and remain fragile given the low demand for jet fuel that weighs on the valuation of all distillates. In this context, the Group expects the Downstream to contribute more than $4.5 billion to the Group’s cash flow in 2020.

In this context, the Group maintains strong discipline on spending. The Group’s operating cost reduction program will surpass its objective with savings of more than $1 billion in 2020. Net investments will be less than $13 billion in 2020, including $2 billion for renewables and electricity.

The Group’s priority is the generation of a level of cash flow that allows it to continue to invest in profitable projects, support the dividend and maintain a solid balance sheet. The Group’s teams remain fully committed to the four priorities of HSE, operational excellence, cost reduction and cash flow generation.

This press release presents the results for the third quarter and first nine months of 2020 fromthe consolidated financial statements of TOTAL SE as of September 30, 2020. The limited review procedures by the Statutory Auditors are underway. The notes to the consolidated financial statements (unaudited) are available on theTotal website total.com .

This document may contain forward-looking statements within the meaning of the PrivateSecurities Litigation Reform Act of 1995, notably with respect to the financial condition, results of operations, business activities and industrial strategy of TOTAL. This document may also contain statements regarding the perspectives, objectivesand goals of the Group, including with respect to climate change and carbon neutrality (net zero emissions). An ambition expresses an outcome desired by the Group, it being specified that the means to be deployed do not depend solely on TOTAL. Theseforward-looking statements may generally be identified by the use of the future or conditional tense or forward-looking words such as “envisions”, “intends”, “anticipates”, “believes”, “considers”,“plans”, “expects”, “thinks”, “targets”, “aims” or similar terminology. Such forward-looking statements included in this document are based on economic data, estimates and assumptions prepared in agiven economic, competitive and regulatory environment and considered to be reasonable by the Group as of the date of this document.

Theseforward-looking statements are not historical data and should not be interpreted as assurances that the perspectives, objectives or goals announced will be achieved. They may prove to be inaccurate in the future, and may evolve or be modified with asignificant difference between the actual results and those initially estimated, due to the uncertainties notably related to the economic, financial, competitive and regulatory environment, or due to the occurrence of risk factors, such as, notably, the price fluctuations in crude oil and natural gas, the evolution of the demand and price of petroleum products, the changes in production results and reserves estimates, the ability to achieve cost reductions and operating efficiencies withoutunduly disrupting business operations, changes in laws and regulations including those related to the environment and climate, currency fluctuations, as well as economic and political developments, changes in market conditions, loss of market shareand changes in consumer preferences including those due to epidemics such as Covid-19. Additionally, certain financial information is based on estimates particularly in the assessment of the recoverable valueof assets and potential impairments of assets relating thereto.

Neither TOTAL nor any of its subsidiaries assumes any obligation to updatepublicly any forward-looking information or statement, objectives or trends contained in this document whether as a result of new information, future events or otherwise. Further information on factors, risks and uncertainties that could affect theGroup’s business, financial condition, including its operating income and cash flow, reputation or outlook is provided in the most recent version of the Universal Registration Document which is filed by the Company with the FrenchAutorité des Marchés Financiers and the annual report on Form 20-F/A filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”).

Financial information by business segment is reported in accordance with the internal reporting system and shows internal segment information that isused to manage and measure the performance of TOTAL. In addition to IFRS measures, certain alternative performance indicators are presented, such as performance indicators excluding the adjustment items described below (adjusted operating income, adjusted net operating income, adjusted net income), return on equity (ROE), return on average capital employed (ROACE), gearing ratio and operating cash flow before working capital changes. These indicators are meant to facilitate the analysis ofthe financial performance of TOTAL and the comparison of income between periods. They allow investors to track the measures used internally to manage and measure the performance of the Group.

These adjustment items include:

(i)Special items

Due to their unusual nature or particular significance, certain transactions qualified as “special items” areexcluded from the business segment figures. In general, special items relate to transactions that are significant, infrequent or unusual. However, in certain instances, transactions such as restructuring costs or asset disposals, which are notconsidered to be representative of the normal course of business, may be qualified as special items although they may have occurred within prior years or are likely to occur again within the coming years.

(ii) Inventory valuation effect

The adjusted results of the Refining & Chemicals and Marketing & Services segments are presented according to the replacement costmethod. This method is used to assess the segments’ performance and facilitate the comparability of the segments’ performance with those of its competitors.

In the replacement cost method, which approximates the LIFO (Last-In,First-Out) method, the variation of inventory values in the statement of income is, depending on the nature of the inventory, determined using either the month-end pricedifferentials between one period and another or the average prices of the period rather than the historical value. The inventory valuation effect is the difference between the results according to the FIFO(First-In, First-Out) and the replacement cost.

(iii)Effect of changes in fair value

The effect of changes in fair value presented as an adjustment item reflects, for some transactions, differences between internal measures of performance used by TOTAL’s management and the accounting for these transactions under IFRS.

IFRS requires that trading inventories be recorded at their fair value using period-end spot prices. In orderto best reflect the management of economic exposure through derivative transactions, internal indicators used to measure performance include valuations of trading inventories based on forward prices.

TOTAL, in its trading activities, enters into storage contracts, whose future effects are recorded at fair value in Group’s internal economicperformance. IFRS precludes recognition of this fair value effect.

Furthermore, TOTAL enters into derivative instruments to risk managecertain operational contracts or assets. Under IFRS, these derivatives are recorded at fair value while the underlying operational transactions are recorded as they occur. Internal indicators defer the fair value on derivatives to match with thetransaction occurrence.

The adjusted results (adjusted operating income, adjusted net operating income, adjusted net income) are defined asreplacement cost results, adjusted for special items, excluding the effect of changes in fair value.

Euro amounts presented for the fullyadjusted-diluted earnings per share represent dollar amounts converted at the average euro-dollar (€-$) exchange rate for the applicable period and are not the result of financial statements prepared in euros.
