On December 19, 2022, Thomas S. Murphy, Jr. was elected to Berkshire’s Board of Directors to fill the vacant Board of Directors position resulting from the death of Board Member David Gottesman on September 28, 2022. There were no arrangements or understandings between Mr. Murphy and any of the members of the Board of Directors in connection with his election. At this date, there has been no determination as to what committees of the Board of Directors that Mr. Murphy will be named.
Berkshire Hathaway issued a press release announcing Mr. Murphy’s election to Berkshire’s Board of Directors. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.

Thomas S. Murphy, Jr. has been elected to the Board of Directors of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Mr. Murphy co-founded Crestview Partners in 2004. Crestview is a private equity firm based in New York City. Prior to starting Crestview, Mr. Murphy was a Partner at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Additionally, Mr. Murphy serves on the boards of New York University, NYU – Langone Health and The Inner-City Scholarship Fund.
