Hamada: Good afternoon, everyone. This is Hamada from Nippon Sanso Holdings. Thank you very much for taking the time to join our third quarter earnings conference call today despite your busy schedules. Now, let me briefly walk you through the key points summarized on this slide regarding our business performance. Following my overview, our CFO, Draper, will provide you with a detailed explanation of our financial results.
First, let me provide an overview of our business operations.
Regarding overall sales trends, it is unfortunate that we cannot say they have “grown strongly.” Sales have been generally flat, or slightly soft. On the other hand, in the electronics field, demand for semiconductors—particularly for generative AI and data centers—continues to rise significantly. Correspondingly, semiconductor materials gas sales in each region are showing a recovery trend. We view this as one of the bright spots. However, when we look at the macroeconomic environment, there are numerous concerns: the U.S. attack on Venezuela, heightened tensions between the U.S. and Europe over Greenland, and increasing uncertainty in Japan– China relations since the beginning of the year. Moreover, China has strengthened export restrictions toward Japan, and for one of the specialty material gases, di chlorosilane, anti-dumping investigations have been announced one after another. In this sense, tensions continue to rise. As for the impact on our business, we are currently confirming the details. Based on my experience, I do not expect it to represent a very large volume, but we will continue to investigate the developments and actual figures and keep a close watch. Despite these conditions, our regional operating companies have been performing very well. Through disciplined price management and cost reduction—our so‑called operational excellence, or efficiency improvement— profitability has been trending much better than initially anticipated. Details by region and business segment will be explained later by Alan Draper.

As highlights of the third quarter, I would first like to touch on the situations in the United States and in Asia & Oceania. ● United States Business
As mentioned earlier, gas demand volumes have not yet fully recovered. However, continuous price management and rigorous cost control have delivered results, and the core operating profit margin for the third quarter alone improved to 15.1%. From the fourth quarter onward, we expect further profit improvement through the full-scale startup of new onsite projects, continued price management including price increases, strict cost control, and productivity improvements. While we had expected overall industrial activity in the U.S. to become more vibrant, gas demand has not yet returned. This means that the manufacturing industries that use industrial gases themselves have not fully recovered, and this recovery is slower than expected. Although we expected more momentum from the middle of the fiscal year through the third quarter, various geopolitical and policy-related issues have led to the current situation. Even so, we believe our U.S. operations have been performing strongly under these circumstances. ● Asia & Oceania Business As mentioned earlier, especially in Asia, sales to the electronics sector are on a recovery trend.
ております。
In the third quarter alone, the core operating profit margin reached 10.7%, and the EBITDA margin reached 17.9%, exceeding the 17% segment EBITDA margin target defined in the current mid‑term management plan.

The demand for semiconductors for AI and data centers is having a positive impact. Although we initially expected the recovery to come slightly earlier, we now see the recovery trend firmly taking hold.
● Investment Overview While monitoring global conditions, we have been advancing our capital investment plan carefully, based on thorough hearings of customers’ production investment plans.
During the first three months of the year, we virtually halted capital investment due to uncertainties surrounding tariff impacts. As a result, capital investment through the third quarter amounted to ¥78.4 billion. Although this is lower than the same period last year, capital investment is essential for expanding our industrial gas business. Momentum has been regained in the second half, and we intend to continue moving forward with these projects. We will rigorously evaluate investment risks—given the unstable global situation—and ensure we capture growth opportunities that contribute to business expansion. Details of the investment backlog will be explained later. Finally, let me share some recent topics. Topics

We announced the establishment of a new technology development center for advanced materials for the electronics industry at the Taiyo Nippon Sanso Tsukuba Development Center, one of our R&D hubs. The new “Advanced Electronics Materials Development Building” (provisional name) is scheduled for completion in March 2027. The facility will promote development of new products—not only gases but also liquid materials and equipment— in collaboration with both internal and external partners. In addition, the current mid‑term management plan will conclude in March of this year.
We are now actively formulating the next mid‑term management plan.
As the IR department has already informed you, we plan to hold a presentation on the new mid‑term management plan on March 30, in a hybrid format—both in‑person near Tokyo Station and online. We would be pleased if you could join us. Furthermore, our Q4 earnings release and earnings call will be held on May 11, and based on our full-year results, we plan to hold our next fiscal year business plan briefing on May 22.

Next, I will explain our investment execution plan going forward.
As before, this pie chart shows the composition of our capital investment plan by our customers’ industries.
おります。
As of December 31, 2025, our backlog stands at approximately 150 billion yen, which is largely unchanged from the second quarter.
That said, there have naturally been some changes: we added around six new projects and completed roughly four projects. While there are foreign exchange effects, as mentioned earlier, we made very limited capital investments in the first half. In the second half, however, we have been steadily advancing by securing and executing capital investment projects. We believe that our industrial gas business itself contributes to a sustainable society, and in recent years we have been actively communicating this point. Although classifications of this kind may not always be straightforward, I would note that 38% of our new capital investments fall into categories that contribute to a sustainable society. As indicated at the bottom of this slide, as usual, small‑scale investments of 500 million yen or less are not included in this backlog figure. Now, I would like to hand over to Alan, our CFO, to walk you through our financial results. Alan, over to you.

Rather, we interpret the current figures as being influenced in part by changes in the volume and supply‑demand balance of carbon dioxide. I would not say the balance has collapsed, but movements in this area have had some impact on the margin. As for the fourth quarter, there will be certain construction‑related contributions recorded; however, I understand that no large‑scale projects are scheduled for completion in Q4. Therefore, we expect that the major construction projects will begin to be reflected in our results from the next fiscal year onward. That is all.

Could you explain the main drivers behind the improvement to 15.1% in the October–December period? Specifically, how much of the incremental improvement from September was attributable to new on‑site plants coming online, and how much was due to margin improvements in the existing business? In addition, as we look ahead to the January–March quarter, is there anything we should factor in or be mindful of—any additional elements that may influence performance? Your comments on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Now, let me continue. Mr. Omura from UBS Securities, please. Omura [Q]: I am Omura from UBS Securities. My first question is about Europe, which has not been discussed very much so far. In the third quarter, the margin exceeded 20%, which appears to be a very high level. Even looking only at the first half, margins were already strong, and they have improved further in Q3. Could you clarify what the current priorities are in operating your European business? More specifically, is the improvement mainly driven by pricing, cost reductions, or top‑line growth? What factors have contributed to achieving this margin level? And lastly, to what extent would you consider the margin satisfactory from your company’s perspective?

As a result, depending on factors such as plant utilization levels, the same actions may lead to different outcomes across regions. Therefore, we are not managing the business by assigning a strict order of priority to each initiative. We believe that our ability to consistently maintain very strong margins is precisely because we continue to execute these initiatives without interruption. Alan, if you have anything to add, please go ahead.

Omura [Q]: My second question is regarding the Thermos business. How are you currently assessing the Thermos business compared to your other businesses? In terms of revenue growth and margin improvement, the direction and the magnitude may differ from those of your other businesses. I would also appreciate your thoughts on the synergies with your other business segments. In addition, within the upcoming mid‑term management plan, how do you intend to position the Thermos business? If you have any views you can share, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
Hamada [A]: Thank you. Regarding the Thermos business, we have previously explained its background and history, but putting that aside, Thermos has operated for 30 to 40 years as an independent B2C business. As such, its capital investment, efficiency initiatives, marketing, and pricing have all been approached from perspectives very different from those of our industrial gas business. Today, Thermos has four production sites globally, or five if we include smaller facilities, with Japan being one of those locations. Going forward, they will continue to operate based on their own business plans, and our role as the holding company is to provide firm support for their efforts.
Therefore, we do not intend to pursue synergies with the industrial gas business in a forced manner. However, as we have mentioned before, marketing is extremely important for the industrial gas business as well. Listening to the voices of actual end‑users is essential, and in that regard, we believe Thermos has marketing methods that can serve as a valuable reference. As briefly noted earlier, Thermos’s overseas business is currently being developed in partnership with an external partner. We have sales networks across Asia, Japan, Korea, the United States, and—although on a smaller scale—Europe. The circumstances vary significantly by country. User preferences also differ across regions, so rather than adopting a single‑site mass‑production model, we expect to determine the appropriate production site based on market feedback. At this stage, significant capital investment is not required. Each of the existing plants has sufficient production capacity, enabling the business to generate solid cash flow without major additional investments. From this perspective, we intend to continue providing strong support as the parent company. Thank you.

Ishimoto [M]: Thank you Mr. Omura. Next, we would like to take a question from Mr. Hayashida of Seiga Asset Management.
Hayashida [Q]: Thank you. I’m Hayashida from Seiga Asset. I have one question regarding the electronics gas business. First, could you tell us how much the electronics gas revenue grew year‑on‑year in the third quarter? Sales in Asia and Oceania grew by 18% excluding currency effects, so even a rough indication of whether the electronics gas business is growing at a similar level or above that would be appreciated. Secondly, as you mentioned earlier, this segment appears to be gaining strong momentum now. With that in mind, could you give us an indication—again, even at a conceptual level—of the growth we should expect for next fiscal year? Thank you.
Hamada [A]: Thank you. At the moment, I do not have the standalone figures for the electronics gas business, so I am unable to provide specific numbers. If Alan Draper has the figures, I would like him to supplement my response later. It is true that manufacturing activity, including memory, has been increasing. Major manufacturers in Korea, as well as companies in Japan and well‑known manufacturers in the United States, are gradually raising their production levels. In this context, the 18% figure mentioned earlier—although it depends on the specific product—seems to be roughly in line with what we are seeing. At the same time, semiconductor manufacturing processes are undergoing significant changes, and the use of gases different from those traditionally used is increasing. We also need more information on how these new materials will be evaluated and to what extent they will be adopted. Determining how we will respond to these needs is an important challenge for us going forward. Furthermore, not all gases can be produced and supplied locally. In some cases, they must be manufactured in Japan or in the United States and then shipped to other regions. Therefore, it is necessary
