Item 8.01 Other Events.

On April 29, 2021, the Nasdaq Global Select Market (“Nasdaq”) approved the listing of Garrett Motion Inc.’s (the “Company”) common stock, par value $0.001 per share (the “Common Stock”) for trading on Nasdaq. On May 3, 2021, the Company filed a Form 8-A to register the Common Stock under Section 12(b) of the Exchange Act. Trading in the Common Stock commenced on Nasdaq on May 3, 2021, under the ticker “GTX”.

On May 3, 2021, the Company issued a press release announcing the commencement of trading of its Common Stock on Nasdaq. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.

Global Select Market Under Ticker Symbol GTX

ROLLE, Switzerland, May 3, 2021 – Garrett Motion Inc. (Nasdaq: GTX) announced today its common stock has commenced trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market, which has the highest listing standards at the exchange, under the ticker symbol “GTX.”

On April 30, 2021, Garrett emerged from its Chapter 11 restructuring with new financing and a strong balance sheet to strengthen its long-term competitive position and provide the resources and flexibility to solidify the company’s technology leadership. As part of this process, Garrett was able to remain a publicly traded company with the support of its new sponsors.
