Cindy is a seasoned employee at Fort Knox with over 20 years of experience on site. She has built a reputation for consistency, reliability and cross-functional expertise, becoming a go-to resource not only in the Accounts Payable (AP) department but across Kinross Alaska. Through her role on the AP team, Cindy is responsible for ensuring invoices are processed in an accurate, timely manner to support the continuity of operations while maintaining strong relationships with our business partners. Her proactive approach helps to keep payments on schedule, and contributes to a consistently low ‘Goods Received, Not Vouchered’ (GRNV) balance, a key financial metric monitored by Corporate which supports the high perception of the Fort Knox AP team across the organization. Cindy’s proactive approach was most notably exemplified through her identification of a phishing attempt involving a major business partner. She received a request to change payment information for this particular supplier

Maria has over 23 years of experience at Round Mountain where her knowledge and experience working across a variety of departments makes her a highly-valued contributor to the operation. In her role as Contract Drilling Technician, Maria’s proactive mindset and consistent ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions has resulted in measurable cost savings. Her impact was most notably demonstrated when she identified inefficiencies associated with underground drilling operations. When diamond drillers performed casing installations, they were required to wait approximately 12 hours for grout to cure which resulted in significant standby time that was incurred by Kinross. Maria went beyond her day-to-day tasks to find a new grout solution that could cure faster and reduce standby time from 12 hours to four hours. As a result of this solution, we reduced the cost paid to diamond drillers by approximately $2,000 per hole and reduced standby time by eight

On September 18th, Chile commemorates the formation of the First National Government established in 1810 with the annual ‘Fiestas Patrias’ holiday. To celebrate this national holiday, employees from Kinross Chile came together for an outdoor lunch, team-building games and other activities. This summer, representatives from Kinross’ Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and representatives from the local Great Bear team once again joined our First Nations partners on a two-day fishing trip at Viking Island Lodge, located approximately 30 kilometres west of Red Lake, Ontario. The annual trip serves as an opportunity to further build our relationship based on trust, honesty and open dialogue with the Wabauskang and Lac Seul First Nations. The group created memories outside of the workplace, sharing common interests and the tradition of fishing. Ryan is a key contributor within the operations department at Round Mountain where he has distinguished himself for his strong technical capabilities, curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement. In addition to outperforming in his day-to-day tasks, Ryan plays a key role in project support, finding ‘outside-the-box’ solutions when challenges arise. This was illustrated by his contributions to managing water flow challenges during the six-month construction period of the site’s upper fire pond. Ryan demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills to redirect water flows and adapt processes in order to maintain production while successfully completing project construction. Another example can be found through the improvements he made to gold wheel production and recovery at Round Mountain. When Ryan identified inconsistencies with recovery performance, he took full ownership of a project to optimize procedures through consulting with external contractors to find a solution that

Fatimetou joined Kinross in 2018 as a Senior Financial Accountant and was soon recognized for her strong work ethic and high performance, which led to her promotion to Finance Manager . She is the first Mauritanian National to hold this prestigious position, and her continuing commitment to excellence recently earned her another promotion to Director, Finance and Business Support . Upon joining Kinross, Fatimetou was tasked with leading the site’s tax audit which had a complex history of internal and external challenges. Despite these factors, Fatimetou successfully led Tasiast’s preparation efforts, ensuring all required documents were available, audit responses were coordinated efficiently and interactions with both tax inspectors and Kinross’ Senior Leadership Team (SLT) were constructive. The process resulted in one of the best tax audit outcomes in Tasiast’s history, including the avoidance of tax adjustments, and saved the Company several millions of dollars through both

This summer, Kinross Nevada was excited to team up with the Nevada Mining Association (NvMA) to sponsor The Discovery museum’s Mining Mavens ‘EMPOW(HER)’ series in Reno. The series provides young women with a hands-on introduction to the mining industry by connecting them with women working in the industry. Participants explore the mining process from exploration through reclamation. They have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about various career opportunities and the educational qualifications needed to pursue a career in mining. This summer, Kinross Tasiast partnered with Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) International to host a series of training sessions aimed at strengthening our workforces’ incident investigation capabilities to advance our proactive safety culture at Tasiast. The purpose of the training was to provide employees with advanced investigation skills to identify organizational, environmental, task-related and individual factors that occur during safety incidents to help teams understand the cause behind incidents. Employees from a diverse group of departments were identified to participate in the trainings to reaffirm our shared responsibility for safety and to highlight the importance of building safety investigation capabilities across all areas of the business. Angélica joined Kinross in 2023 and was soon recognized for her role in supporting community engagement and building relationships between Kinross and our stakeholders. As General Services Supervisor , Angélica has been key in leading educational site visits for students, community members and other external participants. She successfully manages the complex logistics of welcoming tour attendees to site at altitude conditions 4,000 metres above sea level, even in inclement weather. Angélica ensures all participants are properly prepared and capable of managing conditions while providing education and information on the operation during their tours. She also demonstrates Outstanding Corporate Citizenship internally, championing initiatives that benefit her colleagues. Back in Copiapó, Angélica identified the need for improved shelter for employees who travel the long distances to La Coipa by bus and advocated for the construction of an improved bus stop which includes charging ports

Christopher Van Treeck, Exploration Manager, Kinross Alaska Christopher (Chris) began his career at Kinross Fort Knox in 2022 as a Senior Exploration Geologist and was quickly recognized for his strong leadership and innovative approach to geology. These traits led to his promotion to Exploration Manager, Kinross Alaska where he oversees exploration activities for both Fort Knox and Manh Choh. While Chris excels in his day-to-day role by identifying creative and practical solutions to improve processes across our Alaska operations, he has been recognized for his efforts to strengthen our connection to the community, in particular through outreach and education. As an early member of the Manh Choh team, Chris became a trusted partner both internally across various departments, and externally through the relationships he built with our Indigenous partners. Kinross Gold is excited to announce we have teamed up with Trout Unlimited to further our partnership under the Alaska Abandoned Mine Restoration Initiative by launching our second project – the Cripple Creek Restoration Project. Cripple Creek is a tributary to the Chena River located in Alaska and once served as a productive rearing stream for juvenile Chinook (king) salmon. During mining in the 1930s, the creek was impacted by operations that lacked the environmental standards and regulations of the present day. It has since benefitted from efforts by the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the Interior Alaska Land Trust (IALT), which aim to restore this once-productive juvenile salmon rearing stream. On July 4 th , the United States of America marked a historic milestone - the Semiquincentennial - 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, otherwise known as America250! At Kinross, our Nevada and Alaska sites found new and exciting ways to celebrate this milestone through a series of events and activities designed to bring together our employees, their families and our communities. In Nevada, over 40 employees came together to host one of the most popular events of the year – the annual Fourth of July community picnic. The day kicked off with the annual fishing derby with attendees competing in multiple age divisions and receiving prizes ranging from fishing poles, tackle boxes, bait and other fishing gear. Attendees then ramped up their energy by participating in the annual ‘Colour Run’ to promote health, exercise and wellness while competing for some fun prizes.
